(Very) underrated copywriting technique:Add an 's' to your verbs. It might be the easiest way to boost your perceived value.Because now you're not telling them what to do...you're telling them what the product does (which is the info they came to your site for in the first place). It's a tiny change but you feel the difference immediately:🗳️Collect Customer Feedback↳ Collects Customer Feedback📲Integrate Every UX Signal↳ Integrates Every UX Signal📊Display All Your Data On One Dashboard↳ Displays All Your Data On One DashboardMuch stronger. So take the work off your prospect & put it on your product.Because, most of the time, 'less work' is what they're actually trying to buy from you.

Such a tiny tweak, but very powerful! The only time I would break this rule is if you’re writing something that’s meant to empower the reader. The version without the s makes the reader the main character of the scene, which can be useful in some contexts

That's an interesting suggestion. What about service, not product, copy in this regard?

Interesting. I normally opt for the verb as an action word so you can tell the reader what they can do with the product - puts them in the driving seat.

"So take the work off your prospect & put it on your product."I realized that I was doing this with my photos I took at weddings: instead of giving people the right sizes for social media too, I complained no one crops the pics like they should...Little did I know.

Did you A/B this for conversion, or did you get any qualitative like more satisfying client feedback? Would love to know if this is just KOL for the sake of it or actually a validated hypothesis Alex James

Your perspective is your product. No perspective:“We do SEO for local businesses.”Weak perspective:“SEO is crucial for local businesses.”Strong perspective:“You shouldn't have to wait 3 months to know if your local SEO strategy is working."When everyone's selling solutions, sell corrections.

Be wary of those who achieve growth on LinkedIn by talking about how to achieve growth on LinkedIn.Especially if you're in the business of expertise. They're like stadium food vendors telling French restaurants how to sell hot dogs.

B2B Copywriters need to face the music or face the wall.Because if they don't change their approach, they'll bring themselves down before AI even gets the chance. Here's what they should do instead:

I just wrapped a small experiment.7 days ago, I changed my profile link from my website to my calendly. Here's what happened:✅ 5 bookings❌ 3 no-showsThis was interesting. I see people complain about no-shows a lot...but, after 4 years of working for myself, these are the first ones I've experienced.I think that's because I've always made it semi-difficult to reach out to me.I grew to 125K followers on TikTok, but for 1 follower to book a call with me they had to:1. Go to my profile.2. Tap the link.3. Find my actual website in my Linktree.4. Find the contact page.5. Fill out a form.6. Wait for me to reply to suggest meeting times.7. Reply to confirm.8. Accept the invite.Eight. Annoying. Steps. But I set it up this way because I knew the tyre-kickers would give up somewhere along the path. But those that made it through were serious. They'd qualified themselves, and I'd protected my time. Now, it might be a small sample size, but 3 no-shows is enough data for me.I've changed it back.Let's chalk this up to:𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐚𝐚𝐒, 𝐁𝐚𝐝 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐍𝐨. 23,595:"Remove Friction"

The ability to prompt will soon be akin to the ability to type.Without it, you risk becoming unemployable. But there’s a bigger risk no one’s talking about…In 2017, Nancy A Shenker outlined what a marketing department in the AI world will look like:🧑🔧🧑🔧🧑🔧 Today: Marketers do their thing. 🧑🔧🧑🔧 🤖 Tomorrow: AI helps marketers do their thing.🧑🔧🤖 🤖 Next Day: Marketers help AI agents do their thing.Couldn’t agree more.We won’t just use AI. We’ll rely on it.But the risk is relying on it too much.We want it to aid our thinking - not do the thinking for us.Remember: The point of your 8th grade essay wasn’t so your teacher could read it.𝘐𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘴𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘨𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘸𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵. AI lets you skip the process. But, if you're not careful, you'll wake up one day and realise you just aren't as sharp & insightful as you used to be.So when junior writers ask me for advice around AI, I always tell them"Let it take your job. Don't let it soften your mind."
