Emily in Paris raised the bar with its season 3 finale — and now fans want to know what happens next.During the dramatic conclusion, which aired in December 2022, Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and Camille (Camille Razat) break up at the altar due to his feelings for Emily (Lily Collins). The show received a double renewal for seasons 3 and 4 in January 2020.

Collins, Ashley Park, Bravo, Razat, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Bruno Gouery and William Abadie are expected to return. Meanwhile, Samuel Arnold, Laviscount and Kate Walsh will presumably come back in season 4.

In June 2023, Variety confirmed that production on season 4 was delayed amid the WGA writers strike. The outlet noted that filming was still scheduled to start later that year, however, the cast didn’t reunite until January 2024.

During an interview with Elle in December 2022, Star noted that the first three seasons of Emily in Paris only covered six months. “So I don’t think this baby’s coming necessarily in season four,” he said at the time. “Who knows. But there’s still a little time before we have to worry about a baby.”

“They are star-crossed lovers, they really are,” Starr told Deadline in December 2022. “And I think that a big question to think about the next season is, Emily didn’t come to Paris for romance, she came for a job, and I think they’re both in a different, more mature place in their lives, Emily and Gabriel, and definitely a more complicated place.”

After Alfie and Emily called it quits in season 3, Laviscount confirmed his interest in reprising his role in the future. “The writers on the show and the creators behind it and everyone that comes into contact with it is so amazing and fantastic," he told Elle in December 2022. "Their minds [have] way, way, way, way surpassed mine. So, yeah. I’ll let them do their thing.”

The Scream Queens alum also discussed what story lines he would like to see explored. "It’d be cool to see a little bit of where Alfie’s from, I guess," he continued. "We saw a little taste of Chicago here and there, but it’d be nice to see where Alfie’s from, to see where he is going, to see what he’s come from, and to see what made Alfie and who made Alfie.”

During Netflix's Tudum event in June 2023, Collins hinted that the drama did not end with the season 3 cliffhanger.

"Emily is going to have to decide if everything she's ever wanted is really what she needs," she told fans about the "unexpected twist" headed Emily's way. According to the Netflix star, season 4 will also include a Roman holiday and an ultimatum.

Collins confirmed via Instagram in January 2024 that filming has resumed. “Did someone say Saison Quatre?!” she teased, holding up a script from the season premiere. “Finally reunited with my @emilyinparis fam back in Paris and it feels so good. Although, I may need to brush up on my selfie skills for Emily’s sake…”

After a bout of tonsillitis that “spiraled into critical septic shock,” Park returned to filming season 4. "So happy to be back to start filming days with @carolenicolas @parizhair again!" Park wrote via her Instagram Story in February 2024, alongside a clip of her getting her makeup done. She tagged the show’s official account.
