HBO Max's highly anticipated expansion to Germany, Italy, and more is set for January 13, 2026. This marks a significant milestone for the Warner Bros. Discovery service, which will also launch in Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, and Liechtenstein on the same day. However, the UK launch date remains undisclosed. With over 100 territories already covered, HBO Max offers a diverse streaming experience featuring content from HBO, Warner Bros. Pictures, Warner Bros. Television, the DC Universe, and Max Originals. This expansion includes a range of new original productions, such as the gangster drama prequel '4 Blocks Zero' and the heist drama 'Banksters,' both produced by W&B Television. Additionally, a documentary about the 'Big Maple Leaf' gold coin theft and a thriller series based on the dark tales of 'Struwwelpeter' are in the works. From Italy, a scripted show based on the 2011 murder of Melania Rea and a film about Italian TV host Enzo Tortora's fight for justice will be available. HBO Max will also offer local and international films through output agreements, including the latest Valerio Mastandrea film 'Nonostante' and Daniele Barbiero's debut 'Squali.' The service will feature a mix of popular series, blockbuster movies, live sports, and real-life stories, with the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina set to be a highlight. JB Perrette, CEO and President of Global Streaming and Games at WBD, expressed excitement about bringing HBO Max to new European countries, emphasizing the service's diverse and engaging content.
