Great day out with kids
Swimming in Rozebroeken is a perfect day out for my two little daughters. The water is warm, there are 4 different water slides and even for the smallest there's enough to do and to see. We always eat something small afterwards. On sunny days the outdoor swimming pools are open, even more fun.

Very diverse swimming complex
The new swimming pool in Kortrijk has a lot to offer, a big (50 meter) pool for those who want to swim for sport, a recreational pool with a bit of everything. It has a tiny wave pool, 2 different pools for toddlers and babies, a rapid river, a stream pool, an outdoor pool and an outside toddler pool, it also has a wellness area with saunas etc… And that’s not all, by the end of the year they will open 5 more slides (4 body slides and one tube slide.)
Good things:
+ Brand new building so everything is neat and shiny
+ Great diversity of things to do
+ Great opening hours, the sport bad is open 7/7Bad things/working points:
-Long waiting queue to enter the pool, it seems that the procedure to pay is just a bit too complex which causes long waiting lines, maybe they should invest in computers who can print the entry wristband labels?-Apart from the area at the bar (where smoking is allowed), there is no shade to sit outside.
-No shade in the toddler pool, which is an unbelievable design flaw, the outside toddler pool has only 10 cm of water and is thus perfect for babies and toddlers at the same time there is nothing to provide any shadow whatsoever from noon until the evening. Allowing children to play in the afternoon sun is a bad idea, especially considering the water makes the sun feel less strong than it actually is.
-The indoor swimming pool can be quite chilly on a cold day. Luckily the water is comfortably warm.

Great venue for families and a decent base for going further afield if desired
Great place to stay with a young(ish) family... accomodation was a 'comfort duingalow', which itself was very basic, however, it provided a place to sleep and eat when required which was all we needed it for. The Park itself is great for the kids and we enjoyed it too as parents - plenty to do each day if needed, although we spent three days off site exploring more of the area.
Tiki pool is great fun, we found it better to visit during the middle of the day, avoiding the early rush and the later afternoon/evening onslaught of local teenagers. Although busy most times, the middle of the day offered a more family friendly setting. Several options to eat and drink on site, and not greatly overpriced. The onsite shop is well stocked and has some great local produce - again, prices not overly unreasonable.
It is a theme park and pool open to the public, so does get busy, but queuing times for rides were never excessive.Review of: Duinrell Amusem*nt Park

Good fun, but some safety concerns!
A really fun place, with amazing slides. However, the floors are NOT anti-slip and very, very dangerous. So be careful. Also, beware of schools visiting, the Dutch kids are a bit feral and you aren't informed that along with your booked time slot, that there will be 60+ school kids leaping around the place. Other than that, good fun.

Small forest and tranquil lake, good water quality, and nice walking tracks
If you like the outdoors and like nature this is a great place to be. Easy and free parking for car and bicycle. Restaurant for drinks and something to eat. As it is autumn it was to cold for a swim. But the water looked very clean and of great swim quality. Nice walking paths and we saw a lot of different birds and even a hare. Also a great place to have a outdoor picnic. We will go back but also in the summer. So we can lay at the sandy beach or at the grass area. Very nice place to go to.

Deltaworks dutch engineering
You can visit the inside of the deltaworks together with a guide who gives details and information about the history of this modern world wonder of engineering. The park is not only the deltaworks but also a waterplay park for kids, sealshow sealio show, aquarium, information about the flood disaster in 1953. For the guided tour you need to pay 3,50 euro extra and a boattrip on the Oosterschelde is another 4 euro extra. All by all It's pretty expensive specially in autumn and winter because some parts of the park are closed.

Lovely place
Wonderful place for kids to cuddle goats, feed/see the animals, play on go carts and enjoy a delicious lunch. The water playground is also great fun for kids- very sad the water this year had blue algae so wasn’t safe to paddle in. We look forward to coming back next year on our holiday. This place is definitely one of mine and my daughters favourite places to go.

Summer holiday
We booked this holiday after finding the campsite on vacansoleil, really liked what I saw, but didn’t want to pay €70 booking fee, so we went direct. We paid not much more than they wanted for a static and got a 3 bed house!!!
We were very impressed with the house, it was spacious and would easily accommodate the 6 people it could sleep, the kitchen was well equipped, it had more than enough of everything needed, and more than the one of everything you usually get. The house had 2 bathrooms, one having a shower, one having a bath. The one with the bath was downstairs with a bedroom, the other being up stairs with the other 2 bedrooms. We have 2 children 8 & 3, we intended on putting our 8 year old downstairs, but found the steps extremely steep in comparison to our English home, and didn’t fancy them in the middle of the night, if he had to come up to us, or we had to go down to him. We used the down stairs bedroom as a dressing room, which worked well as we didn’t have to get the suitcase up the steps.
There is a safety gate at the top of the steps, which was a relief to us, due to the steepness of the steps.
Just a note that the bath didn’t have a bath mat so may be worth bringing one if you intend on using it.
The house also had a big dining table, and a large seating area with tv. We couldn’t really get signal on the tv, but we took tablets so didn’t really use it anyway. The house also had its own garden, with electric canopy, garden table and chairs and room to play. My only criticism is it would have been nice to have a gate on the garden to stop the kids getting out. Luckily mine are old enough to understand, but for others with little ones, it would be nice. The site itself is lovely, there are little parks dotted everywhere, I don’t think you’d ever be far from one. There’s also 2 bouncy pillows a big hit with my 2. The bigger one is over the bridge away from the reception area, it also has a zip wire there. We hired a go kart to get there a couple of times. There’s also mini golf, which again was a hit with my 2.
The kids favourite thing was the soft play area, which is in the plaza. They played there every-night, and it’s open until at least 10pm, which means we could enjoy a drink whilst they played.
The plaza also contained a restaurant and a cafeteria. The cafeteria mainly served chips, sausage, burgers and ice creams etc. We only used the restaurant once but it was lovely. We had the €25 menu which was 3 courses, we both had the steak and it was cooked to perfection!!
Worth noting that the cafeteria and restaurant do not accept MasterCard or visa debit, neither do most places in Holland. They use Maestro, which as far as I’m aware isn’t in use anymore in the U.K., so make sure you take enough cash! Also worth noting that the signs/menus etc are all in Dutch, but you’re in the Netherlands, so why wouldn’t they be?
All the staff we spoke to English and they were very helpful and polite. My son is already asking when we can return....and I’m sure we will.Review of: Recreatiecentrum De Vogel

A great and cheap family day out
A surprisingly great find. We were also surprised about the water inflatables being included in the entry price and that we could use them all day. It was really cheap. Lovely white sand or nicely maintained grass to lie on. Can pay extra for sun beds. Would recommend bringing own lunch and drinks as it was limited to chips or fried stuff only.
