Does anyone have any opinions about the art of shaving brushes or products.I don't see them discussed here much...

I love the lavendar line of AOS and have the shave cream and the aftershave. Their brushes are blah and I don't like the sandlewood since i can't detect any smell. I will probably get the preshave oil. Only problem is that their barbers are incompetent most of the time, their TI razors are too expensive and not shave sharp, and they have really high prices for an american brand. If it was from a European brand though people would not complain.

haven't used their brushes but the Lavender Shave cream is one of the best creams I have ever used.

I have the pure badger brush and the only reasom I do is that it was $10. I was going to get the C&E brush at 40 but the B&B essential is coming out soon so I decided to wait for that one.
I would not buy a AoS brush though...

I can only comment on the shave cream, and it is excellent. I have tried the unscented, and I own the lavender. Top notch product.

AOS brushes are very good performers IMO but a terrible value. You can get comparable brushes for half the price.

I use a lot of AOS products and I am infatuated with their sandalwood. I have the oil, shaving cream, ASB and the cologne. I use their pure badger brush because it came in a kit I bought from Costco. Otherwise, I don't think I would have bought it.
I actually had a good shave at an AOS in las vegas (Mandalay place).
I would say their best stuff is the PSO and shaving cream. If you can find their set at Costco, I would definitely pull the trigger.

I like there products and there better brushes are ok but some are way overpriced, I got the $50.00 "pure badger" brush that was in the $100 kit and it is a real decent brush for making lather especially from soaps, it is a little scratchy but not bad. Now from what I understand the brush in the cheaper kit is total junk and some of the more expensive brushes on there site are outrageously priced but for what the one I got cost me or what it cost to buy outright if not in the big kit I think it was worth it. I have used it for a year and it hasn't lost hardly any hairs at all and it is rather densely packed not floppy at all. Again the smaller cheaper brush in the smaller kits stay away from.

My DW loves the AOS Sandalwood, so I bought a tub of it, after finishing my first tube. She also put some AOS supplies, in my stocking...face wash, scrub, moisturizer, and eye creme. Those all seem to do fine, but not really a stand-out versus, other, cheaper products.

I'm not a fan of the brush, but it is my first brush as well.
I prefer the Trumper cream (I bought Violet, which I didn't think I would like, but turns out I love the scent) to AoS (I bought Lavender as well) by a small margin. I find it lathers just a bit more and seems quite a bit more emollient.

I got the brush from the $40 kit. There are definitely better value brushes out there, but as pure badger brushes go it's definitely serviceable. Not a bad starter or travel brush.

I have the AOS lemon and lavender soaps and AS balms. Love them both. I don't really get much scent from the soaps but they are pretty much at the top of my rotation these days for quality of lather and quality of shave - just superb! And you use so little of the balm it will last forever. The nice thing there is it comes in a pump so you don't dispense too much. Two little pumps is all you need (a dollop about a 1/4" or so). So many balms also go that far but come in a tube where it's easy to dispense way too much.
I tried the preshave oil and decided I'm not a preshave oil kinda guy
Like others here I find the "hardware" they carry to be a bit (to a lot) overpriced for what you get, but some of it is quite nice.
Overall I'd rate the AOS products I use Top Notch and worth their price.

I enjoy both the soap and cream in sandalwood. The scent is not as dry as QED's pure version, but much less sweet to my nose than many others out there. Kind of a happy medium (made with essential oil).
I haven't tried their other scents and concoctions, nor their brushes.

Their creams (lavender, sandlewood, rose and unscented) are about as good as it gets IMO. Pure EO scents, little or no coloring, and they make excellent lather. The packaging is high quality unlike TOBS and T&H tubs that self destruct by the lids cracking in half after a few months. The price is competitiive.
No experience with any other product lines.

I purchased the 100 dollar kit with the brush and found it to be a good starter brush. The product are very good ,I would like to see them add some lime to their offering. Overall good value for the price.
